As a reminder, the repeaters and networks provided by the PVRA are made available to all ham radio operators free of charge, but the cost of upkeep and maintenance is significant. We encourage anyone who enjoys using our systems to consider joining the PVRA. Your membership dues directly support the continued operation and improvement of our repeaters, ensuring we can maintain the highest quality service for the ham community across southern New England.

To join, or for more information, please visit our website Join PVRA.net or contact a club representative. Your support is greatly appreciated!

DMR Brandmeister Info

Default Networks:

  • Vernon 145.41, Naugatuck, Torrington, Danbury are linked.
  • All 2 meter repeaters have a PL of 141.3 EXCEPT 146.79 and 53.45 which are 82.5.

Using the repeaters:

  • Always listen before you transmit to ensure no one else is on the repeater

  •  The repeaters have an attack timer to prevent the repeater from coming up due to interference.  When the repeater has been quiet for a while, hold the mic button for a second before you begin to speak to give the repeater time to react.  If you speak to quickly, you will miss the first half of your call sign.  Once the conversation is started, this timer no longer is active.

  • You do NOT need to say "OVER" after each transmission, the courtesy beep will signal that you have released the mike button!

  • Remember to follow FCC rules regarding language, business rules, music, etc.

Meetings

  • Everyone is invited to attend the meetings of the club.
  • Meetings are held at 8:00 pm, the third Wednesday of the month except for July and August.
